music you’d be surprised to know I like…

Missy Elliot and M.I.A.

Surely there are others, but those two are up in the front of my mind right now. Smart music, smart ladies, fun, original and very danceable.

I also like the music from that sean paul guy. I don’t really know what he’s saying because I can’t understand him, but I like to shake around to it. His “lyrics” are likely very misogynistic and ridiculous, I just happen to like the SOUND. I wouldn’t buy an album or anything, because he seems like a shallow creep and I don’t want to give him my money.

So, I truly appreciate the offers of donations, etc for Emerson and it’s a good idea in theory. But unless one of the six people reading this site is extremely wealthy and wants to donate say $20,000 to my cause, then it won’t help much. But I am not discouraged. Okay, I am a little, but there just has to be other sources of money. Grants, scholarships, something. I doubt that I can manage to get enough to pay for both semesters, but who knows. Crazier things have been known to happen (like me having a baby). And somewhere out there is a man who legally owes me $60,000. If I could find him, maybe I could get some money there. The hard part is finding him. And of course that he has money or homeowners insurance, otherwise it’s all moot. You can’t get water from a stone, right?

I see there’s a new version of wordpress, but I doubt I’ll be upgrading it anytime soon. Screw this dialup crap.

I don’t have any money, but Lean Cuisines are 1/2 price at Kroger. Plus, if you buy 12, you get two free gallons of Edy’s ice cream.

  2. Tiffany

Wow, talk about irony. 12 Lean Cuisines = 2 free gallons of Edy’s ice cream.

    Wow. Hi, Gina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. neely

Okay, so I’ll admit the defeat. But what if we don’t raise the money for tuition, but enought money to pay for a private detective to get your your 60,000. That’s cheaper, right?? I’ll start saving my pennies and nickles, and dimes and quarters and one dollar bills. Anyone else joining the cause?

you bought 12 lean cuisines? that’s a lot of cuisine. screw that, I’ll just buy the ice cream.

there is no kroger’s around here. thanks gina from hickville, USA.

umm…I thought for sure you two would have lots of musicians to list under “music you’d be surprised to know I like…” because both of you have music that surprises me you like.

mostly because it’s a lot of crap, and I expected better.

and mostly I’m talking to tiffany here. HAHA. just kidding. really, I am! please don’t be mad. hate me, but don’t hate my baby.

You’d be surprised to know how much I like the song “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson, because normally I’m way too cool for that shit. Seriously, I’m a total indie junky, I love stuff like The Shins or Rogue Wave or Interpol, but I just can’t stop listening to that Clarkson crap.

Neely—Febuary is better for me. I have to buy books, pay tuition, get my Bipap machine fixed ($500.00 there alone) and I only worked like 15 hrs the last two weeks. So my next paycheck is going to be very thin. Plus house , gas, elec, and everything else.

  7. DG

Jonathan- Indie…. Independent… Now I get it. We used to call that “Avante-Garde”.
Similar concept. Independents chart unknown or rarely travelled territory.

  8. gina

    Crap I like:

In Da Club – 50 Cent
Ashanti – I just want to love you (or something like that)
Don Williams – 70s country at its best!
    Neil Diamond
    Waylon Jennings
    Kenny Rogers
    Erasure

  9. Tiffany

Ooooh, Gina. I love you. You’re my music soul mate.

    Crap I like:

    70’s soul music
    Neil Diamond
    Tom Jones
Pussycat Dolls (That song “Don’t Cha” has been in my head for weeks!)

But mostly my taste in music is very similar to Jonathan’s. I am absolutely in love with the Shins. Ask Christa, she’ll tell you how I’ve travelled to 2 different states to see them. I also really, really, really love Colin Hay. I’ve also been listening to Aqualung lately. I like them alot. And Electric Six and ummmmm, who else? I can’t think of anything else right now. But, when I do, I will let you all know.

And, Christa, I will never hate you no matter how much you try to make me. And I will NEVER hate your baby. I love him. Bring him back!

Steph, you like crap. That’s why you don’t list it. it’s too embarrassing. hippie. go smoke another one!

and I would never call Erasure crap. Ever ever in a million years.

Kelly Clarkson = definite crap. But you’re forgiven, JR, if only because you’ve just had a baby.

By the way, I read some lyrics of that sean paul guy and he’s a complete ass.
