And if it doesnt work out theres always section 8 housing,
food stamps and welfare. Dont get upset at these things just use them as tools to get back on your feet. Your first concern should be the welfare of the child, not where or how you get the resources for caring for Ryland.
Also can you file for unemployent?
Perhaps you should just file for those things in case it takes a while to get a job that fits your needs. Then you dont need to hit up your friends and family for hand outs. You dont need to pay back those type of assistance payments.
Now that you have a child you should fill out the work sheet for earned income credits on your 1040 form this year. With caring respect. DG

More thoughts: if the medical costs of Ryland's
birth where not paid for by insurance you can deduct them from your income. They would greatly exceed the standard deduction and also provide additional earned income credits on your tax return.
